Superdrug Coconut oil review

As most of you know I am obsessed with looking after my hair, and I will try pretty much anything (not harmful) to make my hair longer and feel softer. I had been looking for weeks on Google, Youtube and Pintrest on different things people have tried on their hair. I noticed after a few weeks of browsing that coconut oil was very popular and had produced wonderful results for lots of people with different hair types. So just to test it out I wanted a small amount of coconut oil for a reasonable price, I sound found Superdrug's Coconut oil and purchased it the next time I was in the city centre.

My first impressions on the oil...

-Priced only £2.29
-Loved the smell - coconutty
-A reasonable sized amount in the small container
-Easy to apply
-See next day results
-Really works!!

For a fun twist I thought I would show you how I apply my coconut oil and give you some details and tips in each step.... so enjoy!

Step 1. I know this seems a stupid step, but it is the first step haha. Just simply remove the hair from the bobble/clip/bun or whatever hairstyle you are wearing.

Step 2. I like to brush thoroughly through my hair to ensure they are no knots in my hair as the less tangled your hair is the easier it is to apply the oil to your hair.

Step 3. I then go on to section my hair, which I usually start the first section just above my ear. This step totally depends on the length and thickness of your hair, my hair is around mid-long and not too thick so I only have to section my hair around 3 times.
Step 4. This is when I actually apply the oil, you can just scope the oil out and it will melt slightly with the warmth on your hand. However I think it is easier to get the oil out if I place the tub in my microwave for no longer than an hour. It feels really greasy, and the look after is just like wet/greasy hair. So I would definitely not recommend doing this before any plans to leave the house.

Step 5. This is just a repeat of step 4, and this step may go on for a while if your hair is long or thick.
Step 6. This step looks rather silly I must admit, and by all means you don't have to do this step as I do it. once I have all my ends covered which I tend to concentrate on as I have dip dyed hair so I try and heal my bleached hair. When it comes to my short layers and front bangs, I find it easier to tie my hair in a bobble in front of my face and apply the oil this way. You may find it easier to just carry on like step 4 and 5.
Step 7. After all my layers and ends are covered I then scope some more oil and apply it to my roots and scalp, at this step I then like to massage the oil into my scalp for a few minutes. After I finish this I like to just throw my hair up into a bobble and sit and relax for a while before I rinse it off in the morning.

I like to do this before I go to bed the night before I am going to wash my hair. So I usually do it around 8pm and leave it on till I wake up so around 8am, and when I wash it off my hair feels so soft.

WOULD DEFO RECOMMEND

Primark Haul

September-October                                                                                       Primark Haul

Hola fellow bloggers,
I have been a wee naughty these past few months and found myself just having little splurges in Primark, and I thought why not share my buys with you guys! So enjoy!!

What I am going to do is post a photo of all the clothes hung up first, and then post the photos of me styling the clothes after. Hope you like.....

£12
This is one of my favs out of my selection, I just love the kind of Chinese colours and pattern you could find of china plates. Its a really thin sheer material so I wear a grey vest underneath.

£12
This again is £12 which is pretty pricey for primark but a total bargain for the top! I love this top it has kind of a hipster vibe, and could be worn during the day with some converse, or on the night with some leggings and heels.

 £4
I don't know why this top looks a tad blue in the picture because its actually black which you will see later on when I style the top. For £4 this top cant go wrong, I love how flowy it is but its sit really comfortably and tight on my bust so I still compliments my shape. I also love the chain detailing for straps, just gives it something extra! however they are really cold when you first put it on haha.

£15
£15 for this kimono is so pricey for primark, however I loved the print and I really wanted a kimono just for wearing with leggings or even during summer with a pair of shorts. Its a really thin flowy material again, and the sleeves are kind of a batwing shape as you can tell and I wear an XS.

£5
This is really different from all my other buys, but I really needed just a simple every day top and when I tried this top on it just sat really nicely and the fabric is so soft and comfortable! and for £5... you cant really go wrong can you?

£5.90
Now these bad boys I had been eyeing up for weeks, they were originally priced £7 and I have always wanted some deep blue jeans but jeans are so overpriced in other shops, so when I saw these I needed them! However pay day hadn't arrived yet so I was doomed to watch them slip into the primark sale and slowly disappear... the week I came in to buy them there was none of my size and I was gutted! Wasnt until the next week that some size 10's appeared and I snatched them up! As they're jeggings they only come in regular leg length but I don't mind as I just usually roll the bottoms up anyway. BARGAIN!!

 £4
I had been looking around for a while for this kind of style of necklace, and i was so excited when I saw this little beauty. It is fairly heavy but not unbearable, and it does jingle abit which I dont mind when im boogeying on a night out haha. All in all im happy!

£20
Last but definitely not least! My absolutely favourite heels I own ever! i just love the heel design and the lace up boots, yes they are quite high but im not a professional in heels but I can walk in them. I think the chunky heel does help with the balancing hehe.

Now comes the styling.....                                     excited? well you should be hehe

These are all my every day looks, and I am wearing my white converse to style them, which where a present off my lovely boyfriend from schuh for £45. I also wear my high waisted disco pants which were from misguided for £9.99 I know bargain!

Well I hope you liked this post, as I say it is totally new to me and I just hope I did the clothes justice!

Peace out!

Leigh x

Golidilocks Envy...

Greeting fellow bloggers,

been a while I know, sorry been a tad busy. However I am back sat at my keyboard ready to tell you about the exciting mission I am on...

DUN DUN DUN

It all started when I first bleached my hair in around 2011, first to all girls, if you like your hair in any way then do not I repeat DO NOT  bleach your hair! you will have none left what so ever! I had mousey blonde hair just past my shoulder. After I bleached my hair in year 11 for prom, I kept bleaching it to top my roots for about a year.

It went a tad yellowy, but it was still in okay condition as you can see my bangs are still in tact at this point. After a year of bleaching my hair and straightening it my hair began to fall out even by brushing it, it was dry and rough to touch (AWFUL).

I then decided to go the complete opposite and dyed my hair dark brown. But as you can see my bangs completely broke off, and my hair lost about a good few inches due to split ends and breakages. However my hair did start to feel more healthy the months after.

And finally this is my hair now... no golidilocks but im getting there, I have learnt over the years that heat defence sprays and hair masks/oils are your hair bestfriend!

That is why I am going to be testing out if coconut based products really work! I am not expecting to see a dramatic difference but I hope that my hair will hopefully continue to grow and keep healthy.

I will post my results after maybe a couple of months of testing them and see if I feel or see a difference! and share the results with you ladies and fellas...

The products I am looking at testing out are all from superdrug...

Alberto Balsam Coconut conditioner (400ml)                        - £0.99
Alberto Balsam Coconut shampoo (400ml)                            - £0.99
Palmers Coconut oil protein pack (60g)                                  - £1.99
Palmers Coconut oil strong roots spray (150ml)                     - £3.49
Palmers Coconut oil repairing shampoo (400ml)                    - £3.99
Palmers Coconut oil repaiting conditioner (250ml)                - £3.99
Palmers Coconut oil replenishing hair milk                            - £4.99
Vatika Naturals enriched Coconut hair oil (300ml)                - £5.49

Wish me luck....

Styling my fav shorts!

Hey fellow bloggees...

Sorry its been a while again, I would love to say its due to my busy schedule but honestly... I am embaressed to reveal that I actually spent so long off blogger that  I forgot my email address I use hahaha and also I have been soaking up this unusual sun England has been experiencing.

This leading me onto my new post 'Styling my fav shorts'
Sometimes a surprise sunny appearance from the sun is a nightmare as the summer clothes have been pushed to the back of the wardrobe and well I know I do... I totally forget what goes.

However...
once my fav pair of denim shorts emerged from the pile of clothes shoved to the unopened section of my wardrobe, I found so many things to combine with these shorts for some casual easy looks.

All of these looks I am sharing with you I have put my current shoe craze with them which are my new Nike Air Max babies.

I know these are crappy pictures but I just wanted to throw a few things together to show how I style my denim shorts with cheap easy tops! so hope you like this!

Sorry it had been a while! But here you go... enjoy
peace out!

August update!

Hey fellow bloggers,

Haven't wrote anything in a while, simply because I am a little poor right now and havent been able to write about new purchases!
Plus my internet is a load of kack right now and wont let me upload any photos for my blog.

However... dun dun dun

I have purchased a new camera, which is currently my new baby. It is the samsung wb2100 in black, if you want to see it there is a cheeky picture on my instagram leighnx
Anyway I am thinking of starting up a youtube channel, I know scary stuff! It will just be about hair products, beauty products and a little look into my wacky life haha
Lets see if im brave enough to actually start a channel

Also a very big date in august for me is my bestest friend in the whole entire world's birthday, but not just any birthday people... its her eighteenth! Wooo gonna get crazy!

I am thinking of doing a post on all the things I purchased for her, or maybe that could be my first video? Ooo the possibilities are endless!

Lastly I am purchasing out of my next pay day which is this Friday, some 3D crest whitening strips for your teeth. I have heard and watched alot of reviews about them and I am very eager to try them!
They are basically these strips that you place on your top and bottom set of teeth and leave them there for half an hour, let them work there magic, and then repeat this on the night. It claims to leave your teeth whiter in just three days, which is a very big statement, but it seems to be living up to it. Also reviewers have been claiming that after they completed there two week box, there pearly whites lasted them a year!!!

I am planning on getting them off ebay, I would usually avoid buying stuff like this off ebay but all the reviews recommend buying them on ebay as its cheaper. The ones I am looking at is for 14 pouches which will have 28 strips in, so should last me 2 weeks (1 in the morning and one on the night) and they are costing me around £30.

So wish me look with them, and I will tell you about my results!!
Au revouir bloggers!

Garnier Summerbody lotion

hello everybody,

First I want to apologise about the complete lack of photos on my blog, this is due to my crappy internet connection and will hopefully be corrected soonish! Then I will fill my post with lots and lots of pretty pictures!

Well if you don't live in the UK then you will not have experienced the scorching heat we have been having these past couple of weeks, and it is because of the heat that I purchased this moisturiser...

My purchase was from wilkinsons, usually wilkinsons is somewhere people try and avoid and it can sometimes be quite cheap and nasty however the product I wanted was on offer here. So I thought suck it up and go go go...

Garnier Body | Summer body £2.93
Moisturising lotion - Sun kissed look

I decided to go on and purchase this bad boy as I had developed a nice tan from sitting out religiously in the garden trying tot soak up every single ray of sunshine, and knowing the UK's reputation of being sunny sun sun one day and then pouring down with rain the next I decided I wanted to try and buy something that would help me keep my tan.

I had heard good things about this Garnier summerbody and decided that I would give it ago, and was persuaded with the claims on the bottle ... natural looking sun kissed tan - effective 12 hours moisturisation.

I have been using it for just over a week now, and these are what I have found out..

Good points
-Did help me keep my tan
-Skin did feel moisturised (don't know if I would say for 12 hours)
-Easily applied
-Smells nice

Bad points
-Goes a tad orangey
-As it is a white lotion you cant see where your putting it or have missed, can leave you a little streaky
-Takes a few minutes to absorb so you have to stand around nakey waiting for it to dry
-Would not recommend putting white clothing on after applying as it has turned my white bra straps orangey- browny colour
-You have to wash your hands after applying, this might not be a pain for some with en-suites however I have to put it on in my room then risk running back to the bathroom nakey (as I have to wait for it to soak in) to go wash my hands before it soaks into my hands..

Overall I would say it is a good product if you already have a tan and just looking for a top up as my sister was trying this product the same time as me and she is not as tanned. She found it harder to see the results after a week where as I saw mine the next day. It is a bit of a hassle when applying as you have to run back to wash your hands. Also it can go a tad orangey but when I see this I just don't use it for a few nights and then its fine.

Nearly Empties

I thought I would do a post on what products I have nearly used up so you can see my opinions and advise, you might agree with them or might just think shush. haha

HEAVENLY PRODUCTS
These are the products I loved and will be re-purchasing...

1. Argonoil- miracle heat defence spray     £12.99 Boots
'I love love love this!! big thumbs up for me!'
This spray is an absolute life saver, as my hair is dip dyed ombre the bleached bottoms are very fragile. This spray is non greasy or sticky and I can actually see the results and it makes my hair feel so soft after I use it. I usually spray it after I have washed my hair and prior to the blow drying, I then section my hair before straightening and I like to sprist the spray once into the palm of my hand and run it through my hair. Would deffo recommend this...

2. Tresemme- blow dry lotion     £5.50 Boots
'Did its job, made my hair feel soft!'
I actually got this for Christmas and it came along with my current Tresemme hairdryer, and I wouldn't say it was amazing but it is a nice extra to have in your hair care drawer. I just simple spray on prior to the blow drying and sometimes spray it into the palm of my hand to run through the lower end and tips of my hair just for extra protection from the heat. Good addition to the hair care drawer.

OVERRATED PRODUCTS
These are the products that I am glad to see the bottom of...

1. Mane'n'Tail- herbal gro shampoo & conditioner     £9.59 Amazon
'I got my hopes up so high... disappointing!'
Was sat depressed with my pathetic length hair one night and decided to make the mistake of typing in to Google 'products that aid with hair growth' and what do you know millions of products came up. So I decided to sit and read hundreds and hundreds of reviews and a few popped up more than once and one of them was the Mane'n'Tail products, I then visited the actual site and found that the products use to be used on horses hair....yeah I was a bit worried too! but after reading I was kind of convinced and was absolutely devastated when I found that I couldn't order them as they was from America. So I went to my trusty Amazon, for people that don't know amazon.com has everything you could think of! I got a tad over excited and bought lots and lots of hair masks, conditioner, shampoo, sprays and I can honestly say my hair has not benefitted from these at all! Big waste of money...

2. Nivea- moisturiser     £3.40 Boots
'nice moisturiser, bit sticky...'
This moisturiser has served me well, but I wouldn't call it a an amazing product. It doesn't really smell of anything which some people may prefer but I like been able to smell it while I put it on (sounds a tad strange haha). It also its a fast absorbing moisturiser so once I had put it on I would have to waft around nudey for a while until it dried then I would be able to get ready. like it don't love

Hope you enjoyed this guys and hopefully it might have come in use to someone? I don't know...
speak soon! :)
